How to Become a Successful Sound Therapist / Healer & Help Others to Heal

The vibration that you create or project as a therapist can determine your success as a sound healer. This is the vibration you emit by the sound of your voice the first time you speak with someone. It can be your body language when you meet or as you converse with a client or patient.

It is important to be aware of the ‘vibe’ or vibration that you create as you work in a therapy session using sound healing bowls, gongs, tuning forks and other sound healing instruments.

The manner in which you tap a bowl or a gong and your focus and intent as you play a sound healing instrument all have a bearing on the vibrations and the sounds that the instruments create and can also have a bearing on how the client or patient might respond to the sounds during the session.

All of this is encompassed in the question of how to become a successful and effective sound healer.
How the brain interprets electrical signals as recognisable sound.

There are numerous small neurons located in the brain which are responsible for the processing of auditory information including the hair fibres of the cochlea, the snail shell-resembling organ of the inner ear, which then send electrical signals to the auditory nerve.

These impulses are then transferred to the auditory centre of the brain. The brain then translates these impulses as sounds we can identfy.
  • Healing can be described as any process which may help to transform the physical, emotional, mental or spiritual body from a state of unrest, unease or discomfort to a state of peace and harmony.
  • Healing can be described as a process which may restore or generate wholeness in the body, mind or spirit providing eventual relief from ill health, pain, discomfort or suffering of any kind.
  • Healing can be described as a process which takes place on any level of the physical, emotional, mental or spiritual body whereby the person is helped or transformed to an improved level of being.
The emphasis here is on creating the ideal environment for healing to take place on all levels of the body’s energy field, which is that state of being where the person is completely relaxed, peaceful and at ease, as opposed to feeling tense, fearful, anxious and in a state of dis-ease, disharmony or imbalance.

The aim of sound healing therapy is to help the body to internalise and deal with whatever may be causing the resistance and contraction on any level of the body’s energy field, physical, emotional or mental and help to expedite or resolve any discrepancies that may have accumulated over many years, replacing anxiety, tension, anger and fear, with relaxation, calm, peace and harmony.
