Sound Healing Instruments For a Sound Bath – Energy Healing Online Training Course

How Sound Healing Instruments are Used to Create a Sound Bath?

What is a sound bath? A sound bath can be a most relaxing and transformative experience whereby a person is 'bathed' in sound waves produced by sound healing instruments. The most popular method of creating a sound bath is with the use of a large gong.

A Chinese gong or moon gong can produce an infinite amount of sounds and harmonics. It is also capable of producing high volumes of sounds and vibrations capable of filling very large rooms with sound.

What instruments can be used for a sound bath?

A sound bath can also be created by using one or more sound healing instruments such as:
  • Gongs
  • Tibetan singing bowls
  • Crystal quartz bowls
  • Chimes
  • Tuning forks
  • The human voice
  • Rain sticks
  • Guiros, shakers, meditation bells, tingshas
  • All drums including hang, handpan drums, ocean drums etc

How is a ‘sound bath created?

In a one to one healing session the person, patient or client will lie on a mat on the floor, or lie on a therapy table or may choose to sit on a chair. The therapist / practitioner / healer will then use one or more sound healing instruments to surround the person with sound. This can be with a large gong played close to the person. Or, the therapist may use one or more Tibetan singing bowls or crystal quartz bowls or they might use tuning forks or other instruments to create sound vibrations around the person.

In group healing session participants may sit or may lie down on floor mats in a circle around the sound healing therapist who is creating the sounds and vibrations from the instruments. The sound healing therapist completely surrounds and envelopes the participants, with the sounds emanating from the instruments. This is where the term ‘sound bath’ originated.

Sound bath for self healing

Many therapists / healers use their own sound healing instruments for self-healing their own body, mind and spirit, or their own aura, chakras and energy field. A sound healing therapist can create their own self - healing sound bathing experience using their own instruments, and many therapists find this extremely beneficial for their own personal health and well-being.

Group healing sound bath sessions have become very popular in recent times and it’s not unusual for groups of people to gather on a regular basis to partake in a group sound healing event. Needless to say most therapists or practitioners equally enjoy providing a sound bath experience since they themselves are also immersed in the waves of sound vibrations.

Sound bath feedback from clients

Reports from those who have experienced a sound bath have described it as calming, relaxing and invigorating as they allow the waves of sound vibrations to envelop their bodies bringing a sense of balance and harmony to their overall being. Many describe it similar to a normal sound healing session in helping to reduce levels of aches, pains, discomfort, stress and anxiety.
